mCast can broadcast short text messages to mobile phones using Internet SMS gateways and other wireless service providers' websites. Currently, mCast can:
  • Send a single plain-text message to multiple recipients
  • Interpret XML definition files for user-defined gateways
Future releases will include the ability to:
  • Use template messages with customizable variables for each recipient
  • Import recipient phone numbers from files (i.e. CSV)
  • Send messages to alpha-numeric pagers

  • PHP 4 using --with-xml

  1. Place mcast.php and mcast_config.inc.php in the same directory
  2. Include mcast.php in your application to use the broadcast_message() function

All configurable data is placed in mcast_config.inc.php.

$gDefinitionsDir  string
Location of XML gateway definition files (local directory)
$gPhoneTimeLimit  integer
Limit in seconds per phone number before script terminates
